Various attractions, food, and hands-on events centered on Imsil N Cheese
Imsil Cheese Theme Park is the only experiential tourist destination in Korea themed around Imsil cheese, and it is the birthplace and center of Korea’s cheese industry. It began when Father Ji Jeong-hwan, who was assigned to Imsil in 1964, raised two goats and, together with the villagers, after countless trials and errors, became the first in Korea to make cheese. The park, set over a vast meadow, blends European-style architecture reminiscent of Switzerland’s Appenzeller with pastoral scenery, creating an exotic atmosphere. The experience center is divided into the Cheese Hall, Theme Hall, and Park Hall, where visitors can enjoy a cheese-making experience by learning firsthand how cheese is made from pure raw milk, as well as pizza-making using dough made from Korean rice and authentic European cooking experiences. In addition, with facilities such as an animal farm, rose garden, historical and cultural center, and a restaurant, it is a great place to spend a fulfilling day tasting a variety of foods made with Imsil N Cheese.
