Jaraseom is an island located in the area of Gapyeong-eup, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. Jara Island, which was formed on the Bukhan River when the Cheongpyeong Dam was built in 1943, is located about 800 meters in a straight line from Nami Island. It was named “Jara Island” because it is an island that faces “a hill that looks like a turtle.” Jara Island, made up of four islands—East, West, Central, and South—is also developing leisure and ecological park facilities. In the Seodo area, there is an auto camping site, and in Jungdo, there is an ecological cultural park with a lawn plaza more than 100 meters in diameter. At the western end of the Jarasum Camping Site, a natural ecological theme park called “Ihwawon” has been established. It is also known as the place where the Jarasum International Jazz Festival is held.
