Demonstration of the Gossaum Game + Performance by an Intangible Cultural Heritage Artist + Folk Game Experience

Rediscovering the value of Gossaum Nori, a representative folk game of farming culture, and based on its distinctive masculine fighting spirit and enterprising character, it creates a venue of communication, harmony, and cooperation. On the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, a folk holiday alongside the Lunar New Year, it is a representative performing-arts festival adding traditional folk games—recreations of varied folk games, the communal danshimjul (rope) game everyone joins, and the goblin fire-circling of Otdol village. With Gossaum Nori, a National Intangible Heritage representing the region, the festival contributes to revitalizing performing arts, inheriting and developing traditional folk games, and energizing local culture.
