Buddhist Celebration Pagoda + Wish Lanterns + Lighting Ceremony + Small Concert
Gwangju Park is the first urban park of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City and serves as a popular resting place for citizens, housing the Memorial Tower, Citizens’ Hall, Cultural Center, and Mujin Hall. Gwangju Park is a space where tradition and modernity coexist. At the foot of the mountain stands a Confucian school built during the Joseon Dynasty, and next to the entrance of the school stands a monument marking the site of the magistrate of Gwangju. The Gwangju Park Seonjeongbi Army is a place where Joseon-era commemorative and historic monuments located throughout various parts of Gwangju have been gathered in Gwangju Park. There are biographies of the magistrate and county magistrate of Gwangju, who were mainly recipients of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, as well as biographies of provincial governors and provincial governors. There are also inscriptions by other Confucian scholars such as An Gyu-yong, the royal inspector Jo Heon and Yeo Gyu-ik, and a few commemorative plaques for Chalbang.
