Gwanghallu Garden is the garden of Gwanghallu, built in the early Joseon period, located in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do. In the city near Namwon Station stands Gwanghallu, where Chunhyang and Lee Doryeong are said to have met, and the garden that houses Gwanghallu is collectively called Gwanghallu Garden. To the north of Nuwon stands Gyoryongsan, tall and imposing, while to the south lies Geumambong, said to be as precious as gold bars, and in the distance, Jirisan can be seen. Gwanghallu Garden is Korea’s foremost pavilion that expresses a vast cosmic view, combining Gwanghallu, symbolizing the Moon Palace, and Samsinsan, a paradise on earth, by the pond symbolizing the Milky Way, and is one of Korea’s four great pavilions along with Gyeonghoeru, Chokseokru, and Bupyeokru. Inside Gwanghallu Garden are Gwanghallu, Ojakgyo Bridge, Wanwoljeong Pavilion, Yeongjugak Pavilion, Chunhyanggwan, Chunhyang Shrine, and Wolmae House, as well as auxiliary facilities such as a craft shop and a café.
