Ulsan Big Rope Pulling Maduhui + National Taehwagang Maduhui Dance Competition + Folk Games Festival Ssireum Competition
장소 소개
Maduhui is a folk game based on “Hakseongji,” one of the local gazetteers of Ulsan during the Joseon-Yeongjo period, and through its story linkage, it is establishing its traditional identity and cultural identity. It is also evolving into a community-led tourism festival by combining summer entertainment and experiential activities centered around the Taehwa River with nighttime content such as the Chimaek Festival. As the first summer festival held nationwide, it provides a space for community unity through the Maduhui rope-pulling event, which involves all Ulsan citizens. The 2026 Taehwagang Maduhui Festival, where summer is heating up, will be held in the old downtown area of Jung-gu, Ulsan, featuring a variety of experiences such as the large rope-pulling contest “Maduhui,” water rope-pulling at Taehwagang, a chicken-and-beer festival, an EDM party with a DJ, and a ssireum wrestling competition.
