Marking its 28th year, the 2026 Mungyeong Tea Bowl Festival is one of South Korea’s representative festivals, blending the depth of tradition with a modern sensibility. From May 1 to 10, 2026, for ten days, it will be spectacularly held at the Mungyeong Saejae Open Set, a breathtaking natural wonder. Mungyeong ceramics are born not through artificial techniques, but by insisting on the traditional wood-fired kiln (mangdaengi kiln), fired in flames hotter than 1,300°C. The tea bowl, with its rustic yet natural charm, is full of appeal, cleansing even the user’s mind. In particular, this year’s festival has significantly strengthened a variety of interactive content aimed at the MZ generation and family visitors, aspiring to evolve from a festival to be seen and enjoyed simply to a stay-type festival that people can enjoy together.
