The festival food information below is from last year’s festival (2025), and the 2026 festival details are currently being updated.The Muju Firefly Festival is Korea’s premier environmental festival, themed around fireflies, a natural monument, and a pristine natural environment. Held annually from late August to early September throughout Muju County, it offers a special experience where visitors can directly observe the mysterious lights emitted by fireflies in pristine nature and appreciate the value of nature’s preciousness and the importance of preserving the ecological environment. During the festival, a variety of attractions and activities will be available, including the signature program “Firefly Mystery Exploration,” diverse ecological and environmental experiences, traditional cultural events, performances, and nighttime scenery. In particular, the Firefly Mystery Exploration is Muju’s unique program that takes visitors directly to firefly habitats to experience their natural, untouched light, offering visitors unforgettable memories.
