장소 소개

The Daeseong-dong Tumuli Museum opened in 2003. It exhibits artifacts and materials excavated from the Daeseong-dong Tumuli Cluster (National Historic Site No. 341), the burial site of the highest ruling class of Geumgwan Gaya. It consists of a main exhibition hall with permanent displays of artifacts, an outdoor exhibition hall displaying two large tombs in their original excavation state, and a special exhibition hall for planned exhibitions and educational programs. The permanent exhibition uses various restored artifacts, models, and advanced visual techniques to allow the general public to enjoy the exhibits and easily understand the culture of Geumgwan Gaya. It is organized around themes such as the last resting place of the kings, the society before King Suro, revealing the appearance of the kings’ tombs, and the remaining stories of Geumgwan Gaya. The outdoor exhibition hall displays the wooden coffin tomb No. 29, considered the first royal tomb in the Daeseong-dong Tumuli Cluster, and the wooden coffin tomb No. 39, which was installed while destroying the former tomb, restored to their original condition from the time of excavation.
