The sea route that, two thousand years ago, Queen Heo traveled along from the Ayuta Kingdom of India to Gaya comes alive in brilliant light. The 3rd Gimhae Light Festival, “Sailing Toward the Light,” held at Gimhae Gaya Theme Park from August 14 to 23, 2026, presents a story that unfolds through departure, voyage, and a meeting with Gaya through light sculptures, illuminations, media art, and photo zones. Walking along the path of light that resembles the blue sea and night sky, you can encounter the special connection between Gaya and India. On weekends and public holidays, there will be a local food zone, an art market by local creators, and outdoor performances featuring jazz, fusion Korean traditional music, and acoustic music. At the opening ceremony on August 15, traditional drumming, a K-POP trance performance, and a multimedia fireworks show featuring over 3,000 shots will light up the night sky. The festival will run daily without a break from 5:20 p.m. to 10 p.m., with last admission at 9 p.m. The admission fee is 2,000 won per person. You can experience Gimhae’s special summer nights where light, history, performances, food, and art come together.
