The following festival details are from last year’s festival (2025); the 2026 festival details are being updated.Marking its 30th year this year, the Gangdong Prehistoric Culture Festival is the only festival in Seoul themed around the prehistoric era, and it proudly offers a variety of programs that not only highlight the historical value of prehistoric archaeological sites but also allow visitors to experience the lives of prehistoric people. This year, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Amsa-dong site in Seoul, the exhibition will be organized as a separate space centered on the four elements—water, fire, earth, and wind—under the theme “6,000 Years of Breath, 100 Years of Light, 30 Years of Resonance.” Each space will be filled over the three days of the festival with presentations suited to the characteristics of the materials, a variety of exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and nighttime programs, delicious food, and diverse performances, offering visitors a special delight that bridges the past and the present.
