The following festival details are from last year’s festival (2025); the 2026 festival details are being updated.*The Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City has long been established as a region known for its rich flavors, thanks to the harmonious blend of plains, mountains, fields, and the sea centered around the Yeongsan River, which has long provided the blessings of nature. Among them, Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City kimchi holds the richest flavor and atmosphere, to the extent that it is known by the proper noun “Jeolla-do kimchi” and “Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City kimchi.” Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City kimchi is characterized by being packed with a variety of vegetables, anchovy fish sauce, glutinous rice porridge, sesame seeds, and other seasonings. Choosing fresh ingredients, carefully preparing them, fermenting them in the most basic way, and then adding the touch of hand.
