To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the construction of the Namhansanseong fortress wall, Gwangju’s signature festival that reexamines the value of Namhansanseong, where history and culture come alive, will be held for three days from September 18 to 20 at Namhansanseong Provincial Park. This festival will be a meaningful occasion to reflect with citizens on the historical significance and cultural value of Namhansanseong, a UNESCO World Heritage site. During the festival, a variety of performances and stage programs blending tradition and modernity will be presented, along with historical experience programs where people can directly engage with Namhansanseong’s history and culture, participatory programs that citizens can join and enjoy together, and an interactive art market.
