The Namsan Beacon Ceremony and traditional-culture events are a Seoul-hosted project recreating Joseon-era communications to share indigenous traditional culture with citizens and tourists and offer cultural enjoyment. The Namsan beacon mound was a key Joseon communication means that gathered beacons from across the country and reported the situation to the capital. At the mound, you can watch the beacon ceremony with historical commentary. The daily noon bell-ringing at Bosingak is a participatory event with citizens and tourists. At the octagonal-pavilion plaza of N Seoul Tower, you can watch samulnori performances and traditional martial-arts demonstrations. There are also hands-on programs such as a day-watchman and a day-beacon-keeper experience.
