Set against the World Cultural Heritage site Suwon Hwaseong, the Suwon Hwaseong Media Art, which has been held since 2021, concluded the 2021–2025 Mancheonmyeongwol: King Jeongjo’s Dream, Becoming Light season In 2026, it was newly planned under the theme “Saebit Dongnak: Suwon Hwaseong Blooms in Light,” welcoming guests with “Saebit” and enjoying the night at Suwon Hwaseong together with “Dongnak.” This nighttime festival, which creates a giant-scale media art installation that expresses through vibrant lights the stories of people who have shaped the world cultural heritage site of Suwon Hwaseong from its construction to the present, offers a rich variety of sights and activities for visitors over an 18-day schedule. The festival combines lights, video, and performances around Hwaseomun Gate, while also featuring various interactive and responsive media art experiences in Jangan Park.
