* The festival content below is from last year (2025); 2026 content is being updated. Marking the inscription of Korea's jang-making culture on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list and the 20th (coming-of-age) Jangnyu Festival, this is Korea's representative fermented-food festival, establishing identity as the home of traditional fermented pastes and showcasing K-food's excellence to the world. About 50 varied programs across 8 fields—experience programs, cultural performances, exhibitions, and sales themed on traditional jang—are held, and you can taste spicy, savory dishes made with Sunchang gochujang. In particular, the 'Sunchang Gochujang Royal Tribute Procession' performance and distinctive experiences unique to the festival, such as Fermentation Country 1997 and 'Beans—boil, pound, make meju,' will be presented. Marking its 20th anniversary this year, varied programs such as 'Find the Golden Meju,' 'You and Me Coming of Age,' and jang-product discount events are also planned.
