The following festival details are from last year’s festival (2025); the 2026 festival details are being updated.*In 1967, Father Ji Jeong-hwan came to Imsil for missionary work, and starting with two goats, together with the village youth, after countless trials, errors, and hardships, celebrated the creation of cheese—the first cheese in South Korea—and, for the sake of revitalizing the local economy and developing the cheese industry, the Imsil N Cheese Festival has grown into one of Korea’s premier cultural tourism festivals, held every early October at Imsil Cheese Theme Park, where residents of Imsil and visitors come together to enjoy it.
