The Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival is a film festival that highlights the lives of nature and humans through mountain films. It is characterized by portraying the various ways human beings live in harmony with nature—through trials and overcoming, challenges and failure, conflict and coexistence—and through that process prompting deep reflection on life. Through programs and operations that actively reflect the unique geographical background and natural environment of the Yeongnam Alps, the festival strengthens its identity and functions beyond a simple film screening venue, becoming a space for interaction where mountaineers, filmmakers, and audiences come together. It also strives to actively discover and screen films that introduce a wide range of domestic and international mountain films and documentaries, expanding the boundaries between genres and forms, and deepening the festival’s significance each year through works with fresh perspectives.
