The 48th Sim Hun Sangnok Culture Festival has been held since 1977 to carry on the 'evergreen' (sangnok) spirit of Sim Hun—a pioneer of rural-enlightenment literature, a resistance poet who loved and devoted himself to the Korean people, and the author of the novel 'Sangnoksu' and a film director. Continuing through the years, the 2025 festival marks its 48th edition and is counted among Dangjin's signature festivals. It aims to be a festival where program planning that reflects Sim Hun's spirit coexists with literature and culture.
