Baekhwasan, located in Dongmun-ri, Taean, is both the main mountain and the sacred mountain of Taean. Baekhwasan, named for its snow-covered mountain peaks that look as if draped in a white cloth, stands 284 meters above sea level, and the combination of its jagged rock formations and pine trees along the trail to the summit is beautiful. It is especially famous for the beautiful sunset viewed from the mountain summit. If you climb Baekhwasan from Dongmun-ri, you will come across Taeulam Hermitage, where the Tae-an Dongmun-ri Rock-carved Triad Buddha, known as a treasure of Baekje, is enshrined. Because the Solhyanggi Trail Course 5 passes through it, hikers often visit. In particular, Baekhwasan Naengcheongol is a place that maintains a cool atmosphere even in midsummer, and residents used to visit it to escape the heat. Its advantage is that the mountain is not very high, so people of all ages and genders can climb it easily.
