Festival Held to Preserve the Traditional Culture of Songnisan and Revitalize the Local Economy

Sokrisan Sculpture Park was established in October 1997 by the Sokrisan Tourism Association, and it provides visitors to Sokrisan with attractions, cultural tourism services, and a comfortable place to relax. Located within the Jandi Park of Songnisan National Park, this park spans approximately 24,000 square meters and features 27 works by prominent Chungcheong region artists, including Kim Seok-woo’s “The Dialogue Between Sky and Earth,” Yang Hyun-jo’s “The Hometown of Innocence,” and Lee Sang-pil’s “Jeong,” allowing visitors to Songnisan to appreciate works of art. In addition, convenience facilities such as restrooms and water stations have been provided for visitors’ convenience, and in the summer, the valley flowing through the park is opened as a water play area. If you visit Songnisan Sculpture Park, it is worthwhile to walk together the 2 km Ori Forest trail from Beopjusa Temple, designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, to the sculpture park and back to Beopjusa. Also, in Sokri, where Songnisan Sculpture Park is located, there is the Jeongipum Pine, a natural monument, and you can also visit the Emille Museum, where various folk paintings can be seen.
