Reenactment of the Wondosa Festival rites + Path of Harmony parade + Grand festival celebration performance + Food market + Citizen events + Traditional games + Residents’ singing contest, etc
Since ancient times, our ancestors performed rites to pray for the peace and blessings of their country and region by placing their names on famous mountains, rivers, and the sea. In the case of the sea, during the Joseon Dynasty, rites were performed in places such as Incheon, Suncheon, and Gangneung, and among them, Incheon Dohobu held a ritual to the deity of the West Sea at Wondo [Nakseom]. At a shrine called Wondosa, established on Wondo Island during the Joseon Dynasty, a ritual was held in place of the king by local officials of Incheon who gathered the spirit tablets from various islands and performed it in spring and autumn; this was the Incheon Wondosa ritual. The 2025 Incheon Wondosa Festival & Nakseom Festival is a Michuhol District festival that combines a ritual reenactment with a village parade festival promoting harmony.
